Outdoor Club Teams

Objective:

Outdoor skills, drills and scrimmages. Instruction will cover the skills and tactics currently used in international hockey with an emphasis on hitting, receiving, and pushing.  The defensive skills covered include jabbing, channeling, reverse tackling, and man to man marking.  Goalie training is available during practice sessions.  Practices will be held twice weekly at API and a minimum of 3 tournament events.  . 

Commitment:

Similar to the indoor season, attendance is expected al all practice and games.  SPark reversible must be worn to all practices. 

Where: 

Monday: API Sports Hall Turf, Gambrills, MD 

Thursday: API Air Dome, Gambrills, MD

When: 

April 5, 9,12,16, 19, 23, 26, 30

May 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24

Age Groups/Times: 

U14: 5:00pm - 6:20pm

U16: 6:20pm - 7:40pm

U19: 7:40pm - 9:00pm 

Cost:

$700 (additional fee for National Club Championship if team qualifies)

Tournaments:

Players will be selected to play in at least 3 event dates below based on skill and availability.

  • Lehigh University 7v7 - April 7
  • University of Richmond 7v7 - April 28
  • RCC - U14 Regional Club Championship (Delaware Turf)  - May 12, May 13
  • ​RCC - U16 Regional Club Championship - (Troy Park, MD) - May 26, May 27 
  • RCC - U19 Regional Club Championship (Delaware Turf)  - May 12, May 13 
  • Drexel University 7v7 - June 2
